| 1. |
Can Sealoflex be used over existing surfaces such as
felt, asphalt etc?
|
Yes
the system can be laid directly onto most substrates
such as felt, asphalt, metal, asbestos concrete and
tar. However, it is important to ensure that
whatever surface it goes on is clean and free of loose
particles, grease and oil.

|
| 2. |
Does Sealoflex ever become hard and brittle?
|
No.
The system remains flexible throughout it's life.

|
| 3. |
Is there any mixing of Hardeners etc?
|
No.
Sealoflex is unlike most other permanent waterproofing
systems (such as fibreglass) in that it is a single
component product and does not need any mixing at
all. You can use it straight out of the bucket.

|
| 4. |
If I don't use all of the product in the bucket, can
I keep the rest and use it again?
|
Yes.
There is no wastage with Sealoflex. If you do not
use the whole bucket you can put the lid back on and
it will keep for up to a year.

|
| 5. |
How long do I have to wait for the Pink to set?
|
As
Sealoflex is a Water based system it relies on the
air temperature to cure it. If the weather is warm
(above, say, 10 degrees) the Pink should set in less
than an hour. If the temperature is less than 10 degrees
it may take up to 2 hours.

|
| 6. |
Is there any way that I can speed this process up and
make it rainproof sooner?
|
Yes.
There is a product called Quick Dry that can be added
to the Pink which will help it set quicker. However,
you need to speak to our technical team to for advice
on how to use it.

|
| 7. |
How long does the whole system take to cure?
|
Allow
at least 7 days for the system to be fully cured.
After this period it will be virtually impossible
to pull the system of the roof.

|
| 8. |
How do I edge the detail?
|
We
recommend that you use either a straight edge such
as 6cm wide uPVC nailed to the roof edge and then
wrapped in Sealoflex, or Fibreglass drip edges that
give a really clean and professional finish to the
roof.

|
| 9. |
How much Sealoflex do I need?
|
It
really all depends on what the substrate is like.
If it is a good surface such as new plywood boards,
you will get approx. 1 m2 per litre of Pink (that
is for both the base coat and the saturation coat)
and the normal 2 m2 Topcoat per litre. However, if
the substrate is not so good you may only get 0.75
m2 per Litre of Pink. Full coverage details are on
the buckets.

|
| 10. |
Is Sealoflex suitable for "warm" roofs?
|
Yes.
Sealoflex is ideal for warm roofs, especially as it
allows the substrate to breath and there is no need
for breather membranes.

|
| 11. |
What
do I use to apply it?
|
You
can use a brush or roller, or on larger surfaces,
an airless spray.

|
| 12. |
What sort of guarantee do I get?
|
Sealoflex
comes with a 10 year product warrantee if applied
in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
However, by applying another Topcoat within this 10
year period the warranty will be extended for a further
5 years.
